I fell in love with the cutie at the shelter today.
His name is Oslo and he's only 1 year old. The second I walked in front of his cage he got up on his hind legs and started pawing that the cage with the same doofy smile he has in the picture. I put my hand up to the cage and he didn't hesitate to lick it; he trusted me right away. I hope his owners come and find him or he finds a good home, but my God I wanted to take him home with me.
Since I can't have a dog next year either, my roommate-to-be and I are going to adopt a kitty. I need a pet of some kind and I'd feel a lot better if I gave an abandoned kitty a home than if I bought one from a breeder. There are some seriously adorable cats the shelter.
The first thing I do when I have my own place (as in, I'm not living in the dorms or renting a campus apartment) is adopt a dog... or two... or twelve. Who knows, maybe that's something Sam and I will do when he gets out of the Army. All I know is that I want to give an adorable little puppy a family and a good home.
