Day Twenty Two

I'm home for the weekend :) Instead of blogging earlier, I've been out to dinner with my dad and browsing imgur with my sister (yes, the same one from Day Thirteen). I've missed hanging out with my family, so for tonight, I want to talk about the stories that, although they aren't necessarily about love, mean something in our family. It's nostalgia-time for me.


1. My Cousin Vinny

It's pretty much our family movie. We've all seen this movie at least a dozen times. It gets quoted regularly around the house. It makes it better, at least for me, that not a lot of people have seen this movie because it feels more like "our movie."

...Wow, that sounded hipster-ish.


2. Oh the Places You'll Go!

My sister gave me this book as a graduation present before I went off the college. Dr. Seuss is a favorite of ours - we both have quotes on our walls, Day Two for me and this one:

Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive you us Youer than You."

for her. Plus the note she wrote be was incredibly sweet.

3. Twas the Night Before Christmas

Ever since we were little, my brother, sister, mom, dad and I would sit in the living room and listen to one of us read this book on Christmas Eve right before bed. I can't remember a year we haven't carried out the tradition.
