Day Twenty Seven

Today I wanted to feature some work from a very talented friend of mine. His name is Otter (yes, that is his legal name) and he's currently a freshman at New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study where he's studying Epics and Epic Performance, a combination of acting, fantasy writing, screenwriting, and ancient literature.

Lovely Lust
by Otter Lee

Love at first sight is an awkward exchange
Harmony horrified, heard as harangue
Because beauty by I, by thee, be strange
Sinning away what my once pure heart sang
For fairytales flicker, fickle like flame
Bittersweet pleasure accompanies pain
Grandiose gravity fails to force shame
Yet seeing you frown still drives me insane
We wandered along this wind-withered way
Affection, attention, company craved
Bodacious butterflies, courted astray
Luscious linguistics from lips misbehaved
Who could have known our sublime serenade?
Would leave two poor souls so badly dismayed

On a lighter note, here is an adorable video he made for NYU's One Word Contest:
