For his class I have to memorize something and recite it to the class which already makes me want to have an anxiety attack, curl up a corner and never leave. There is nothing I hate more than rehearsed public speaking. If I had to go up there and talk for ten minutes on a random topic they throw at me I think I'd do pretty well, or at least a lot better than this girl:
No, I'm just terrified of going up there in front of the class and ending up like this poor girl:
All embarrassing videos of other people aside, this is the one thing I'm dreading most this term (besides maybe my oral performances for Japanese). 3500 to 3900 word paper? Fine. Creating a syllabus for a course next term and planning the whole thing out? Manageable. But I'm already anxious over this stupid recitation that's only worth 5% of my total grade for the course.
Instead of trying to force myself to learn a Robert Frost poem on a excerpt from a Shakespeare play, I'm going to choose a monologue from the Lord of the Rings. It's just a matter of deciding which scene. As you've probably noticed from my previous posts, I love the LOTR trilogy (thanks Sam) so I think it'd be easier for me to get into learning the lines. Fingers crossed that I'll actually be able to do it.
